North Carolina interim head coach Everett Withers confirmed Wednesday that he is indeed heading to Ohio State.
Withers told reporters that he would become Urban Meyer’s co-defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, as had been rumored for a while. He’s the second new hire to the Buckeyes’ staff under Meyer, joining offensive coordinator Tom Herman.
Withers oversaw some outstanding defenses stuffed with future pros at North Carolina. He also has experience in the Big Ten, having served as Minnesota’s defensive coordinator in 2007.
