#2 Ohio State Defeats #6 Cincinnati 81-66 Heads To Elite Eight

Ohio State defeated Cincinnati 81-66 to head to the elite 8 the first time since 2007, they will be taking on Syracuse.

DeShaun Thomas and Jared Sullinger were the top scorers with 49 of the Buckeyes 81 points.

DeShaun Thomas continued his strong tourney play tonight with 26 points leading all Buckeye scorers. Jared Sullinger had a double double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Ohio State had a 12 point lead at the half but allowed it to slip away early in the 2nd half.  Behind the strong defensive play of Aaron Craft, the Buckeyes battled back and got some help from Smith Jr who ended up with 15 points.

This was just the second meeting between Ohio State and Cincinnati since 1962.
