Buckeye football fans should feel a measure of indebtedness to the Iacono’s pizza delivery guy. He called the Ohio State Buckeyes to talk about their defense. Luke Fickell and the Buckeye defense have responded.
They finally are beginning to look like an Ohio State defense.
For years, Buckeye fans have been able to hang their hats on the Ohio State defense. It seems as though no All-American defensive team is complete without a Buckeye or two assigned to it. Ohio State football has a history of great defensive teams that do not allow points or yards.
Up until last week against Purdue in the second half, defense has been awful…downright embarrassing.
This defense is not living up to the standard set. Ohio State has great individual talent, but they are not cohesive. They’re not playing as a unit. So much was expected of John Simon, Nathan Williams and Johnathan Hankins.
They are beginning to live up to their billing.
