Meyer has top-5 haul of recruits at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Coach Urban Meyer was exultant today after signing a class rich in wide receivers along with help up front and in the secondary on defense. Many scouting services rated the Ohio State haul among the top five in the nation. Vonn Bell, an acclaimed defensive back out of Rossville, Ga., was a late addition to the list, choosing the Buckeyes over Tennessee. Unhappy with his receiving corps most of last season despite a 12-0 record, Meyer brought in potential wide-outs James Clark from New Smyrna Beach, Fla., along with native Ohioans Gareon Conley, Darron Lee and Jalin Marshall, and JC transfer Corey Smith. Although still facing NCAA-mandated recruiting limitations, the Buckeyes also landed three prime players out of Texas: QB J.T. Barrett, LB Mike Mitchell and RB Dontre Wilson.
