The West Region has truly become the Wild West with the No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 seeds all falling before the Sweet 16. No. 2 seed Ohio State hopes to avoid becoming the next victim to the upset plague against No. 10 seed Iowa State at 12:15 p.m. ET on CBS.
If the Cyclones were to win, it would be the first time in NCAA tournament history that the top four seeds in a region would not advance to the Sweet 16.
Both Ohio State and Iowa State were truly impressive in the round of 64 against Iona and Notre Dame respectively. The Buckeyes dominated the pace of the game and scored nearly 100 points, while the Cyclones easily dispatched the Irish 76-58.
The key to this game, as it almost always is with the Scarlet and Gray, will be how effective Aaron Craft and Shannon Scott are on the defensive side against the Cyclones’ three-point shooting. The Bucks can avoid the upset by forcing turnovers and getting out in transition.
