After being treated to a classic game between LSU and Georgia, College GameDay will leave Athens, Ga. to begin heading to Ryan Field. That’s right! Lee Corso and the rest of the gang will take in a matchup between Ohio State and Northwestern.
The game will be played Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
Somebody needs to remind ESPN that Ohio State has won 28 of the last 29 meetings against Northwestern, including the last four straight. To make matters worse, the last four games have been decided by at least 35 points.
So much for showing up to the biggest game of the weekend. Unlike last week’s game, this matchup isn’t likely going to come down to the wire and will probably be a one-sided affair like many games have in the past.
But give College GameDay credit. At least they’re showing respect to the Wildcats and giving them somewhat of a chance. It’s the least we can say about most of the national media, as they’re sitting pretty with a 4-0 record and still fighting tooth and nail to earn respect. If the popular morning show didn’t think Northwestern had a chance, the probability of them showing up is pretty low.
But doesn’t this open the door for College GameDay to show up to other subpar contests? Yes, Northwestern is probably the toughest opponent Ohio State will face until the end of the season matchup against Michigan, but let’s be serious for a second.
Are the Wildcats really going to be the first team to beat Urban Meyer at Ohio State? A school more known for…
