Maurice Clarett Trolling Urban Meyer on Twitter

Maurice Clarett may be 11 years removed from leading Ohio State to the BCS title, but that hasn’t prevented the outspoken running back from voicing his opinions on the current squad.

The latest bit came during the third quarter of the Buckeyes’ road trip against No. 16 Northwestern on Saturday:

His tweet is likely in response to camera’s during ABC’s broadcast showing Ohio State backup quarterback Kenny Guiton warming up on the sidelines. A decision head coach Urban Meyer made after watching starter Braxton Miller fumble the ball away on the Wildcats’ seven-yard line.

It was the junior’s second fumble of the night and third turnover overall.

The game Clarett was referring to is the Buckeyes’ 27-16 road victory against the Wildcats back on Oct. 5, 2002. The then-freshman fumbled twice on Ohio State’s first three drives and three times in the game.

However, then-head coach Jim Tressel stuck with his workhorse.

Clarett rewarded his coach by rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns to help the Buckeyes improve to 6-0. Eight games later, he ran home the winning touchdown in the BCS title game while setting a school record for rushing yards by a freshman (1,237 YDS).

Ironically, Miller is also trying to help push a 5-0 Ohio State squad to a BCS title.
