The Ohio State Buckeyes are in a great position heading into their game against the Illinois Fighting Illini. With Oregon, a team that was ahead of the Buckeyes in the rankings, recently losing to Stanford, the door has been pushed wide open for OSU to make its case as a contender for the BCS championship.
The Buckeyes are currently undefeated and would equal their school record for consecutive wins (22) with a victory over the Illini.
What’s worth noting is that the Illini have kept the Buckeyes from completing an undefeated season before; they defeated them 28-21 in 2007. What is also worth noting is that that was an Illinois team that went to the Rose Bowl the same year and was leaps and bounds better than this 2013 squad.
Between Braxton Miller and Carlos Hyde, Ohio State should be able to take care of business versus the Illini.
