Updated: April 29, 2014, 11:50 AM ET By Austin Ward | ESPN.com COLUMBUS, Ohio — After the initial charges were amended according to court records, former Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby pleaded guilty to physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Franklin County court on Tuesday. Initially, Roby was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a stop in downtown Columbus on April 20. Officers had been called to the scene of a person passed out behind the wheel of a car, but they couldn’t get the driver’s attention. When they opened the door, they noticed the odor of alcohol and Roby failed a field sobriety test. Following the incident, Roby took to social media to defend himself, posting a picture of his breath analysis that showed a reading of .008 on the subject sample and writing “I was not drunk.” The updated charges and the guilty plea were accompanied by a punishment of 180 days in jail and 30 days of probation, but the jail time will be suspended if Roby completes a three-day driver intervention program. He was also fined $375. Roby elected to skip his final season of eligibility with the Buckeyes and is projected to go No. 24 overall in ESPN analyst Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft.
