JT Barrett vs. Kent State: Stats, Highlights, Twitter Reaction

After a miserable performance against Virginia Tech, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett turned things around against Kent State.

The freshman completed just 31 percent of his passes while throwing three interceptions in a Week 2 loss. However, he bounced back with five touchdowns and 297 yards in the first half to build up a 45-0 lead in Week 3.

Barrett look good early as the Buckeyes were able to score on the first drive less than two minutes into the game:

When he found Rod Smith for an eight-yard touchdown on the next possession, Brandon Castel of The-Ozone.net noted it was much easier against this defense:

Despite the weaker opponent, Barrett still showed his ability as he simply could not be stopped. After Smith ran in a touchdown, the quarterback went right back to work with three touchdown passes in the second quarter.
