College football rankings: Ohio State still No. 18 in Amway Coaches Poll

The Buckeyes stays No. 18 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll Top 25.

Ohio State took quite a bit of offensive frustration and channeled it into a good-size pounding of Kent State on Saturday as the Buckeyes demolished the Golden Flashes, 66-0, led by J.T. Barrett as the young quarterback threw for over 300 yards and six touchdowns. That performance by the Buckeyes wasn’t quite enough to impress the coaches (and SIDs), however, as Ohio State stays No. 18 in this week’s Amway Coaches Poll Top 25.

On Sunday morning, the Amway Coaches Poll revealed their Week 4 rankings, including the lack of a jump for Ohio State. Last week’s opponent, Virginia Tech, lost to an unranked East Carolina team and dropped out altogether. Around the country, Virginia was able to upset Louisville, while USC was knocked down a couple of pegs to No. 21 by falling to the hands of Boston College.

In terms of the Big Ten, Michigan State moves up to No. 11, while Wisconsin stays 17th after a bye week. Nebraska falls one spots despite dismantling Fresno State late. The AP Top 25 comes out later this afternoon.
