Kiel not enough for Bearcats, fall to Ohio State in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) – The UC Bearcats football team lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes 50-28 Saturday night at Ohio Stadium. It was the first time the Bearcats have played in Columbus since 2006. Gunner Kiel got the Bearcats off to a fast start early in the first quarter throwing a deep 60-yard pass to wide receiver Chris Moore. Moore ended the game with 221 yards and 3 touchdowns on 3 receptions. Ohio State then rattled off 30 straight points before UC cut the lead to 30-21 at halftime. UC only scored seven points in the second half.  Ohio State scored 21 straight points after UC’s touchdown with nine minutes left in the third quarter. Gunner Kiel ended the game with 21-of-32 with 352 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions.  Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett threw was 25-of-35 with 324 yards and four touchdowns. Ohio State had 340 yards rushing, 313 passing yards and a total of 653 total yards of offense. The Bearcats move to 2-1 on the season and play Memphis next Saturday, Oct. 4 at Paul Brown Stadium.
