A few football prospects had to cancel their trips to Ohio State, but the Buckeyes still had a nice group of recruits on campus for their runaway victory over the Bearcats of Cincinnati on Saturday. Some of the current commits, and key targets such as quarterback Torrance Gibson, linebacker Jerome Baker defensive backs Kendall Sheffield and Mykelti Williams, 2016 quarterback Dwayne Haskins, wideout Austin Mack, offensive linemen Michael Jordan and Michal Menet, safety Wayne Davis, and in-state juniors Demario McCall, a running back from North Ridgeville, Franklin Heights receiver Seth Dawkins, and Hamilton athlete A’Shon Riggins are just a few of the many recruits who were in Columbus. Land-Grant Holy Land caught up with some of the recruits who were on hand, and had them break down their trips: Austin Mack “The atmosphere was great. A night game there is completely crazy. The fans are great. The thing that stood out the most, was probably when that student ran on the field, and strength and conditioning coach slammed him. I got to talk with all the coaches, and it was pretty normal conversations. Just becoming closer really.” Seth Dawkins “The OSU visit was great. The atmosphere was intense. I got to go on the field, and go into the recruiting room. I arrived late, so I didn’t get to talk to many coaches.” Wayne Davis “It was great. The coaching staff, the new tunnel, and the fans all stood out. Coach Smith said he was happy to see me there, and Coach Coombs said it was good to see me. …
