2014 Ohio State Buckeyes top scoring football team in school history

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The 2014 Ohio State Buckeyes, at least for the time being, are the highest scoring team in school history. Their 56-17 victory over Rutgers – Ohio State’s fourth straight game of 50 or more points – pushed the Buckeyes’ scoring average up to 46.5 points a game this season. That moved the 2014 Buckeyes ahead of the 2013 Buckeyes, who averaged 45.5 points a game. However, still remaining on the schedule are Penn State and Michigan State, among others that may provide tougher defense than what OSU has faced so far.  Penn State has permitted a league-low 15.2 points a game. The 2013 Buckeyes flirted with a 50-point average late in the season, before being held to 24 and 35 points in the last two games .
