Ohio State basketball to hold open scrimmage before Buckeyes football game against Illinois

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State fans in town to see the Buckeyes football team host Illinois on Saturday night can get a sneak peak of the Buckeyes basketball team. The Ohio State basketball team will hold its Scarlet and Gray scrimmage on Saturday from 4:30-6 p.m. in Value City Arena. Admission is free and doors open at 4 p.m. Parking is $15 at the lots around Value City Arena. The No. 16 Buckeyes football team (6-1, 3-0 Big Ten) plays Illinois at 8 p.m. Saturday in Ohio Stadium. Saturday will offer a glimpse into the new-look Ohio State basketball team, including freshman guard D’Angelo Russell. The Buckeyes, ranked No. 20 in the preseason coaches poll, play an exhibition game against Walsh on Nov. 9, then open the 2014-15 season against UMass-Lowell on Nov. 14 in Value City Arena.
