Ohio State offers 2016 West Orange pair QB Woody Barrett, WR Eddie McDoom

Winter Garden West Orange High has rolled out to an 11-0 record this season and college coaches are starting to take notice. The latest is Ohio State. Buckeyes runinng backs coach Stan Drayton was in town Monday and extended college football scholarship offers to quarterback Woody Barrett and wide receiver Eddie McDoom, both juniors. West Orange Coach Bob Head said there has been a lot of attention directed at several of his players lately, including two other juniors, offensive lineman Stone Forsythe and defensive end Nolan DeFranco, who were both offered by New Mexico State earlier this season. “It means a lot,” Head said. “South Carolina came in last week and then Ohio State came in yesterday. For the top dogs to want them is really special.” Barrett has had a tremendous season and has really come along in the offense after struggling a bit in the spring after transferring over from Orlando Evans. Under the tutelage of quarterbacks coach Colin Drafts, Barrett has finally found comfort in his surroundings and taken control. He has throw for 1,584 yards on the year with 24 touchdowns on 91-of-147 passing (61 percent). Where he has been destroying opponents, however, has been with his legs. …
