Body found near Ohio State IDed as football player

Last Updated Nov 30, 2014 6:42 PM EST COLUMBUS, Ohio – A body found near the campus of Ohio State University was confirmed to be that of football player Kosta Karageorge, police said at a press conference Sunday. CBS News reported Karageorge’s body was found inside a dumpsters Sunday afternoon and apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was found with a handgun on him, police said. Through tattoos on the body, officials were able to confirm it was him. It was not immediately clear if he had climbed into the dumpster then shot himself, police said. Police said there was one last ping from his cell phone in Columbus’ Grand View neighborhood, but police found him when they received a call from that person. A police report says Karageorge’s mother told authorities he has had concussions and spells of confusion.
