The Ohio State Buckeyes won the coveted fourth and final spot of the brand new college football playoff series, and no one will be surprised to hear that the committee chairman, Jeff Long, will next be seen dotting the “I’’ at halftime of the Buckeyes’ semfinal game against Alabama. When it comes to rounding out a field for a first-ever football tournament, little old TCU (enrollment: 10,000) and the old SWC Baptist school, Baylor University, (enrollment: 16,000) were up against it when they were pitted against Ohio State’s football tradition, brand, TV appeal and everything else that matters.
