OSU Recruit Says He’s Going to ‘Marshawn Lynch’ the Media After Alleged Misquote

Marshawn Lynch’s name has been a verb for a while now, typically used to indicate the running over and/or wholesale destruction of someone or something.

In the case of Torrance Gibson, Lynch’s name will serve as a model for future encounters with the press. Gibson, a 4-star quarterback recruit committed to Ohio State, recently tweeted he intended to give media the “Marshawn Lynch” treatment after allegedly being misquoted by an Alabama newspaper.

CollegeSpun.com’s Andrew Holleran spotted the tweets, which were sent out Sunday night.

According to Holleran, Gibson’s gripe stems from a story published Sunday by AuburnSports.com’s Jeffrey Lee. The 6’4” senior out of Plantation, Florida, visited Auburn University over the weekend and met with team officials, including head football coach Gus Malzahn. Gibson also spoke to Lee and other members of the media, who quoted Gibson as saying his trip “changed things a lot” regarding his outlook on his future.

Everything went well. Everything is looking good. (The visit) changed things a lot. We’ll see what the future holds.
