Buckeyes’ Ezekiel Elliott to undergo another surgery Posted by Kevin McGuire on February 17, 2015, 1:56 PM EST If you watched Ohio State’s run to the College Football Playoff national championship last month, and a ton of you did, then you know just how much of an impact running back Ezekiel Elliott had. Some young fans even think he deserves a Nobel Prize. What you may not have known, or possibly forgot in passing, is Elliott fractured his left wrist in preseason camp prior to the 2014 season. This required surgery before the start of the season, and now Elliott appears to be heading to a second round of surgery for his wrist. After initially deciding to let the wrist heal naturally, a doctor’s opinion this week reportedly changed the plan for the Buckeye running back and potential Heisman Trophy contender. Via Bucknuts; “He went in for his four-week check-up and one part of the bone is healed, but one part isn’t, so he’s going to have surgery this Thursday morning,” a source told Bucknuts. “The doctors checked it out four weeks ago and were shocked that it had healed as much as it had. So, at that time, they decided to not have surgery. Ezekiel had what they call bone stimulation two times per day over the last four weeks and they thought that might completely heal it. But only part of it healed and they decided they need to do the surgery.” The good news is there is plenty of time for Elliott to recover from any potential surgery. …
