COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michigan is running satellite summer instructional camps in Alabama, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and California in June. Jim Harbaugh is taking the Wolverines on the road.  That’s a step beyond what Penn State and James Franklin did the previous summer, but satellite camps are becoming an increasingly used recruiting tool. If prospects can’t come to the school, the school is now coming to them.  Urban Meyer thinks the satellite camps should be outlawed, but as long as the Big Ten is permitting them, Ohio State can’t help but think about joining the trend.  “I think we’re thinking about doing one,” Meyer said Monday. “I can’t tell you if it has been finalized. Am I a fan of that? Not really. A big lore to Ohio State is getting them here on campus. “I think what happens is monkey see, monkey do, they did that so lets go do it. There are ways to evaluate how your camp went: Did you get anyone out of the camp? We’re not going to do it only because other schools are trying it.”  If it pulls talent, Meyer is giving it thought.  But Ohio State is in a much different situation than Michigan and Penn State. The Buckeyes are trying to stay on top while the Wolverines and Nittany Lions are leaning on recently-hired, personality-filled coaches to build their programs back up.  Jim Harbaugh has gotten off to a fast start building Michigan’s brand back up.
