COLUMBUS, Ohio — Apparently being a national championship-winning quarterback means you get to make up your own holidays.
Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones has a new one for the calendar: May Fools Day.
The Buckeyes quarterback, who led Ohio State on its three-game postseason run to the first College Football Playoff National Championship, posted on his personal Twitter account on Friday that he was transferring to Akron.
Give this much to Jones, he hasn’t let the limelight of Ohio State’s much-watched quarterback battle do anything to quell his fun on social media. Cardale is gonna Cardale.
The initial tweet, which has been retweeted nearly 3,000 times at the time of this posting, certainly sent an initial ripple through Jones’ 164,000 Twitter followers. Jones followed up the first tweet with ones that used the hashtags #FreshStart, #NewBeginnings and #ZipNation.
