2015 NFL Draft capsule: Ohio State CB Doran Grant taken by Pittsburgh in fourth round at pick No …

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Breaking down Doran Grant’s NFL Draft selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of Saturday’s NFL Draft.

Doran Grant, cornerback

Where he went: Grant was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 22nd pick in the fourth round at pick No. 121. He was the third Ohio State player drafted, following receiver Devin Smith in the second round to the New York Jets, and tight end Jeff Heuerman in the third round to the Denver Broncos.

How it went down: Grant saw 15 cornerbacks go off the board before getting his call on Saturday. It was thought Grant had an outside shot of sneaking into Friday’s third round, but he and teammate Michael Bennett were forced to wait until Saturday. It’s interesting that Grant ended up going before Bennett, who many analysts thought would be a third round pick at worst. Grant was thought of as more a fringe top-100 player. Grant went at No. 121 and the Northeast Ohio native will be playing his football relatively close to home.
