2015 NFL Draft: What you should know about rookie cornerback Doran Grant

Doran Grant has had a pretty eventful 2015.

The Ohio State senior got the year kick started by helping the Buckeyes defeat Alabama and Oregon to win the first-ever College Football Playoff national championship. Grant then joined his teammates in visiting the White House to celebrate their title. On Saturday, Grant’s memorial year got even more eventful, as he was drafted by the Steelers with the 121st pick of the NFL Draft.

Here’s some facts and stats about the Steelers newest defensive back, Doran Grant:

The Iron Man of the Silver Bullet Defense

Grant didn’t miss a game during his time at Ohio State, playing in 13 games in 2011, 12 in ’12, 14 in 2013 and in a record 15 games during the 2014 championship run. After being recruited by former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, Grant was apart of Urban Meyer’s first three teams at Ohio State that went 36-3 and at one point won 24 straight games.

A sprinter, a basketball player, and a hockey player

While football became his niche, Grant played a multitude of sports during his adolescence. He was the 2010 Ohio State champion in the 100-meter outdoor hurdles and the 60-meter hurdles indoors. Doran was also a basketball letterman in high school and also contributed in age-group hockey.
