NFL draft: Steelers select Ohio State’s Doran Grant

Ohio State cornerback Doran Grant was selected in the fourth round of the NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers today.

Grant, the 121st overall pick, was the leader of the Buckeyes’ 2014 secondary, which made dramatic improvement over the course of Ohio State’s national championship season.

A graduate of Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary, Grant had 63 tackles and five interceptions in 2014 and was credited with nine pass breakups.

Grant should get a chance to play quickly for the Steelers. Longtime cornerback Ike Taylor has retired and others have left via free agency.
