Five bold predictions for the Big Ten in 2015

With the page turned from spring practice and graduation season near in the Big Ten, we’ve updated our bold predictions for 2015 to keep us content until August — at which time, of course, we reserve the right to scrap these for an entirely new set

1. An Ohio State quarterback will go to New York. And we’re not talking about a sightseeing trip scheduled around the Oct. 24 visit to Rutgers. Now is not the time to make an educated pick on the Buckeyes’ starting quarterback; let’s at least follow the continued rehab of Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett. Whomever wins the job among those two and Cardale Jones, though, is set to enjoy a huge year. We say he stays healthy this time, and on the second weekend in December takes a seat in the front row at the Heisman Trophy ceremony as a finalist for the award.

2. Ezekiel Elliott will be there, too. Elliott will pick up where he left off in the January, bulldozing opponents behind a fast-improving offensive line. And he’ll run all the way to New York as a Heisman finalist alongside his quarterback. Can the Buckeyes’ quarterback and running back become the first set of teammates to finish one-two since Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis of Army in 1945? Perhaps, but we’ll at least predict they make it as the first set of finalists from the same team since USC and Oklahoma both sent a pair to New York in 2004. 3. …
