Buckeyes, Elliott favorites to win title, Heisman Trophy

Updated MAY 22, 2015 9:09a ET Looks like oddsmakers like Ohio State and the Buckeyes’ top running back more than anyone at this point in college football’s offseason. Per CollegeFootballTalk.com, Bovada has installed Ohio State as a 7/2 favorite to defend its national championship — something the Buckeyes have never done — while running back Ezekiel Elliott is a 6/1 favorite to claim the program’s eighth Heisman Trophy. Elliott is not alone on the latter list, either. After LSU running back Leonard Fournette, TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin, Georgia running back Nick Chubb and Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, Buckeye Cardale Jones is No. 6 at 12/1 odds. USC quarterback Cody Kessler is also listed at 12/1. Of course Jones may not even end up being Ohio State’s starting quarterback, but the oddsmakers have that covered, too. Braxton Miller is at 25/1 to win the Heisman while J.T. Barrett is at 28/1. Both have finished in the top five of the voting previously. (H/T CFT)
