Former Ohio State walk-on creates Ezekiel Elliott Heisman hype anthem

The Ezekiel Elliott Heisman Trophy campaign has already begun. Rapper Mekka Don, a former Ohio State walk-on wide receiver whose given name is Chukwuemeka Nnamdi Onyejekwe, created a Heisman anthem for the Buckeyes running back called “Zeke.” MORE: 100 reasons we’re ready for college football | Coach rankings | Top 50 players [embedded content] “I loved what (Elliott) stood for, loved his family,” Mekka Don told ESPN.com. “The Heisman odds came out from one of the Vegas sports books and he was No. 1, so I wanted to do something for him. With him being named the front-runner after the season he had, that’s a big deal. “A lot of times you don’t have a guy who is that talented and that accomplished who is also that humble. He enjoys and appreciates the moment.” The song is catchy (except for fans of maize and blue), with lines like “Tough as nails, I bring the hammer… Ran through Oregon, Wisconsin, ran through Alabama” and “They going left, then I go right… 150 and a touch(down), that’s a slow night.” Elliott ran for 1,878 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. If he posts similar numbers this year, he might be making a trip to the Downtown Athletic Club with “Zeke” playing behind him. Purchase NCAA Football Tickets
