Spence is a former Ohio State standout that left the program after failed drug tests left him ineligible. He landed at Eastern Kentucky and was arrested on the downtown streets of Richmond, Kentucky. According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Spence was standing with three other people near a vehicle when he launched a glass bottle into the street. The bottle shattered, which drew the attention of the arresting officer. Spence was taken to jail and released later in the day. Eastern Kentucky officials told the Richmond Register they were aware of the situation and would handle the matter internally. Spence played for Ohio Sate in 2012 and 2013 before being indefinitely suspended after two failed drug tests. In December 2013, Spence tested positive for ecstasy and was suspended for the 2014 Orange Bowl and the first two games of the 2014 season. A second positive test in the summer resulted in an indefinite suspension by the Big Ten. Spence initially said he planned to enter the 2015 draft before ultimately deciding to transfer to Eastern Kentucky in January. At the time, Spence’s father, Greg, said his son needed the transfer to help with his maturity. “Noah needed another year of growth and maturity, especially regarding decision-making,” Greg Spence told ESPN.com, “so he could have a long, sustained career at the next level.” —– Graham Watson is the editor of Dr. Saturday on Yahoo Sports.
