Key stretch: Ohio State Buckeyes

0 Shares Print The success or failure of a college football season always seem to boil down to a few big plays in a few big games during the year. As the 2015 season approaches, we’re taking a look at the three- or four-game stretches in each Big Ten team’s schedule where those make-or-break moments are most likely to occur. Next up in the series is Ohio State. Key Stretch: Minnesota on Nov. 7, at Illinois on Nov. 14, Michigan State on Nov. 21, at Michigan on Nov. 28 Breakdown: Expectations are high enough for the defending national champs this season that their make-or-break stretch of the schedule really shouldn’t begin until the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis. Of course, there is no guarantee that even a one-loss Ohio State team claims the stacked East Division spot in that game. Getting there will require that the Buckeyes avoid any slips, especially coming down the home stretch of the regular season. November starts with a visit from the Gophers, who put up a good fight against the Buckeyes in 2014. Minnesota is built to slow down the pace enough on offense to potentially keep this game interesting. The following game at Illinois shouldn’t be much of a stumbling block as long as Ohio State doesn’t get caught looking ahead to Michigan State and what will likely be one of the bigger games of the year in college football.
