Urban Meyer to lease book in October

Ohio State football head coach Urban Meyer does a lot of things and usually does them well. Father, husband, National Champion, occasional sad pizza eater. But what about best-selling author? Meyer is gearing up to release his first book this October. “Above the Line: Lessons in Leadership and Life from a Championship Season” is set to focus on Ohio State’s unlikely championship run during the 2014 season. “The time was right for this book,” Meyer said in a press release Monday. “Last season’s Ohio State team was so inspiring to me, especially in the way it handled adversity, that I truly believed it offered lessons that could have value to a wider audience.” The book is set to hit shelves on October 27, Ohio State’s single bye week this season. The book will talk about Meyer’s championship teams with Florida as well, but it will mostly focus on his championship season with the Buckeyes in 2014. He wrote the book with Wayne Coffey, and will talk about the team overcoming losing its starting quarterbacks and bouncing back from a disappointing early season loss to become national champions. Coffey is a sportswriter for the New York Daily News, and has co-authored several other books including “The Boys of Winter” and “Where I Wind Up.” [h/t ESPN]
