Michigan State Football: The importance of beating Oregon

The Michigan State Spartans will host the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, September 12th 2015. This game is a must-win for the Spartans, a game where Connor Cook has a great opportunity to display how his talent has progressed and a game where East Lansing will be flowing with energy. Michigan State has not had a non-conference opponent of this magnitude in a very long time. This game will set the tone for the Spartans 2015 season. It gives an opportunity for MSU to beat a legitimate opponent in the early season and launch themselves high in the rankings. Mark Dantonio has been waiting for an opportunity to have Spartan Stadium filled with the tremendous amount of energy and win a marquee game in East Lansing. Dantonio in recent memory has been critical on the students and therefore lack of fans in the seats for some of the big matchups. Getting a ticket for this match-up will not be easy and it will cost you. Tickets on StubHub are already going for anywhere from 150 to 1200 dollars per ticket, these prices will only increase, as we get closer to that September 12th matchup. Diehard Spartans and midwest Duck fans will be shelling out big dollars to be in the Spartan Stadium for this game, if all goes as planned it should be one for the ages. Sparty and the fans at Spartan Stadium will need to do their part to keep the home team motivated. Vernon Adams looks to be the new starting quarterback for the Ducks. Adams threw for over 10,000 yards and had 121 total touchdowns in his three years as a quarterback at Eastern Washington. The Ducks lost most of their secondary and lost three All Pac-12 offensive linemen. For head coach Mark Helfrich, these are his biggest questionable areas. There’s no question that the Oregon Ducks are still the team to beat in the Pac 12, but how good will they be compared to last year…
