Huskies’ game at Ohio State to be broadcast on ABC

For the third time in program history, the Northern Illinois football team will play on ABC. The Huskies game at defending champion Ohio State on Sept. 19 will be shown on ABC – with an ESPN2 reverse mirror – and will kick off at 2:30 p.m., the Big Ten Conference announced on Friday. The Buckeyes are projected to open the season ranked No. 1 after defeating Oregon 42-20 in the national championship last season. It is the first time the Huskies, who are coming off a MAC Championship in 2014, will play on ABC since 2006 – when they also faced a top-ranked Ohio State team. The Buckeyes won 35-12 despite a big game from Northern Illinois running back Garrett Wolfe, who rushed for 171 yards and had five receptions for 114 yards. The Huskies also played on ABC in the 2005 season opener at Michigan, which the Wolverines won 33-17. The Huskies and the Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday most of the game times and details on which games will be nationally televised. The season opener against UNLV of the Mountain West will be televised on CBS Sports Network at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 5.
