The NBA finals returns to Cleveland Tuesday night and all eyes will be on LeBron James to see if he can lead the Cavs to a win and force a game seven. Even though his team is behind in the series, there’s been plenty of national chatter about whether King James, even if the Golden State Warriors win, should be named the finals’ most valuable player. LeBron James is MVP of the NBA Finals, win or lose, says USA Today. Yahoo Sports is on board, too. Even the New York Times has weighed in on the topic and James’ “heroic” performances. Another big James supporter has been ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, who has been arguing about the MVP all week with Mike and Mike co-host Mike Golic, a Cleveland native and Cavs’ fan. (If you listen to the show, you know Golic could be persuaded to give LeBron the MVP nod, win or lose, if the series goes to seven games.) Cleveland fans, I’m guessing, have bigger things to stress about than the MVP debate. Competing with Harvard for basketball recruits. Ohio State University has lost a basketball prospect for the 2016 recruiting class – not to a basketball powerhouse like Duke University or even another Big Ten rival. Seth Towns, from Columbus Northland High School, the Plain Dealer reports, has chosen Harvard University. Towns, the story said, is an aspiring engineer, a “mathlete” and a big Harry Potter fan.
