Las Vegas sportsbook picks Ohio State Buckeyes to win 11.5 games

College football is still two months away, but it’s already clear what Las Vegas expects.

Oddsmakers believe everyone is looking up at the favored Ohio State Buckeyes.

On Monday, sportsbook operator CG Technology became the first Nevada sportsbook to release college football season win totals. The Buckeyes opened at 11.5, more than a win higher than any other team listed. Big 12 contenders TCU and Baylor are the only other teams with a double-digit win total. The Horned Frogs and Bears both opened at 10.

Only regular-season games count, no conference championship games or bowls. Odds are placed on both sides, the over and under. For example, Ohio State is 11.5 minus-180 under, meaning a bettor must put $180 to win $100 if they select under 11.5 wins. Limits are $1,000.

Ohio State opens the season on Sept. 7 at Virginia Tech. The Hokies upset the Buckeyes as 10-point underdogs in Columbus last season. Virginia Tech’s win total opened at 8 minus-125 under.

Ohio State does not play Wisconsin and gets Michigan State at home (Nov. 21). The Buckeyes close the regular season at Michigan.
