Former Heisman winner Troy Smith to speak in Sandusky July 10

Will join past and present Buckeyes, including head coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Cardale Jones Officially done with professional football, Troy Smith still leads a busy life. But when Ted Ginn Sr. comes calling and asks the former Heisman trophy winner to do something, Smith doesn’t hesitate. “Anything for him is a no-brainer,” Smith said of Ginn Sr., the longtime head football coach at Cleveland Glenville High School. Ginn Sr. is the keynote speaker for the July 10 ‘Walking the talk’ fundraiser at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky. “Without him in a lot of situations, who knows where I would be in my life,” Smith said of Ginn Sr. “Everything that he does is for the city, it’s always for the kids and our youth. He is one of my greatest inspirations, and anytime he asks me for anything, if it fits, I’ll definitely do it. If it doesn’t, well, I’ll make it fit.” The speaking event, sponsored by The Chevy Network and Foster Chevrolet, will include Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer and quarterback Cardale Jones.
