Ohio State Recruiting: Buckeyes Face Long Odds To Land 5-Star DL Rashan Gray

The Ohio State Buckeyes are in a golden age of recruiting, but even then, Urban Meyer can’t get everybody. That’s the word surrounding five-star defensive line recruit Rashan Gray, who took an unofficial visit to old Columbus town earlier this week. The sixth ranked prospect in the class of 2016, Gray is also taking a visit to Michigan, which happens to be the home of his old high-school coach, Chris Partridge, who just so happened to be hired by Jim Harbaugh as the Wolverines’ recruiting coordinator. Gray went to New Jersey’s Paramus Catholic, and a couple of standouts from the school already call  Michigan home, including Jabrill Peppers, one of the best player sent he country the past two seasons. More from Factory of Sadness That puts Gray’s odds of becoming a Buckeye pretty low, via the Columbus Dispatch: “I still think he is a long shot,” Rivals.com analyst Marc Givler said. “He has family members who live close to Clemson, and he has several Southeastern Conference school visits coming up in the fall…Ohio State probably should be considered among the half-dozen schools that have a shot at him, but I would definitely put several ahead of the Buckeyes.” While the crystal ball doesn’t predict Gray will find his way to Columbus, the Buckeyes are still long shots to land another five-star defensive line prospect: Nick Bosa, the younger brother of Joey Bosa.
