Buckeyes, TCU favored in all college football games

Here’s my analysis of Golden Nugget’s release of the world’s first spreads on the biggest college football games to be played this season. Only four teams are favored to win every game – Ohio State, TCU, Boise State and Clemson. The defending national champion Buckeyes are favored by 14 or more. Georgia is a pick’em in three games – hosting Alabama, at Tennessee and at Auburn. There are seven teams that are underdogs only once – Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Michigan State, Oregon, Stanford and USC. Then come teams that are big underdogs – Florida (7 times, double-digits 3 times), Mississippi State (7 times), Texas (+18 at Baylor, +21 at TCU), UNLV (double digits in all 6 games on the list by a combined 135.5 points). If you want to use the Nugget’s original lines as a guide to selecting over/under season win totals, CG Technology lists 14 teams expected to win 9 games or more. The list includes: Ohio State 11; TCU and Baylor 10; Wisconsin, Alabama, Michigan State, Oregon, Boise State and Florida State all at 9.5; Georgia, Notre Dame, USC, Clemson and UCLA each at 9.
