× Ohio State coach Urban Meyer hosts football camp in Geneva GENEVA – A familiar face returned to Northeast Ohio to give back to his hometown. Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer put on a football camp free of charge in Geneva with his best friend Dean Hood. Kids of all ages were working hard to learn the fundamentals of football at a camp at Spire Institute. The camp was hosted by the head coach of the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes, Urban Meyer and his long time best friend and head coach at Eastern Kentucky University, Dean Hood. “I liked when we did the relay race and when Urban Meyer came,” said Jaden Pinkerton a third grader. The campers learned about every position on the football field, from quarterback to defensive back. It was open to students grades one through eight and was free of charge. “We have an opportunity, through the sport of football to teach them some things about character and teach them the importance of listening, the importance of telling the truth, the importance of being a gentleman and preserving the game by teaching them good fundamentals,” said Hood. Urban Meyer addressed the campers and their parents following the camp. His message was simple, don’t be the problem, be the solution.
