Ohio State QB Braxton Miller to announce ‘immediate plans’ next week, report says

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is nearing a return to full health following a shoulder injury that caused him to miss all of 2014, but whether or not he suits up again for the Buckeyes remains unknown. Miller, a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he’d had a “successful check-up” in Birmingham with Dr. James Andrews and physical therapist Kevin Wilk. The Columbus Dispatch later followed up with Miller about his health for the 2015 season, and that’s when things got interesting. According to the Dispatch, Miller said he will “announce his immediate plans next week.” Having graduated from Ohio State this spring, Miller is eligible to transfer to any school of his choosing and play this fall. Though possible destinations for Miller have been the subject of widespread speculation for months, he has never publicly addressed the subject. Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has said on numerous occasions he expects Miller to compete with Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett for the starting quarterback job this fall. Alabama is among those schools thought to be possible fits for Miller, a rumor fueled by Miller’s multiple spring trips to the state for follow-ups with Andrews, during which he also visited his childhood friend, former Crimson Tide linebacker Trey DePriest.
