Four Buckeyes were named to the watch list for the 79th Maxwell Award, which is awarded to the college football player of the year: junior running back Ezekiel Elliott; redshirt sophomore quarterback J.T. Barrett; redshirt junior QB Cardale Jones; fifth-year senior quarterback Braxton Miller. The Chuck Bednarik Award honors the best defensive player in college football. Junior defensive lineman Joey Bosa and senior linebacker Joshua Perry made the watch list.
