Michigan State Football: Will the Spartans beat the odds?

The Michigan State football team has had winning seasons for five consecutive years, while seemingly doing better each year than the next, with 2012 being the exception. Each season, before the year begins, one of the worlds largest sports betting sites — Bovada — comes out with its predictions on how many games each team will win. Bovada has the over/under on MSU at 9.5 wins. Now, with that being said it does have a few caveats. First, this isn’t including any postseason, meaning no Big Ten Championship Game or Bowl Game could be counted as a potential victory. Secondly, for those concerned about what the odds are, the ‘over’ is set at (-175) and the ‘under’ is set at (+135). For those who are gambling challenged, this means one would need to bet $175 in order to win $100 if they took the over, but would need to bet just $100 in order to win $135 if they took the under. Connor Cook has his goals set high for the 2015 campaign. So which is more likely? The No-Doubt-About-It’s Let’s be honest, Michigan State is now a powerhouse and will inevitably steamroll over some of its opponents this year. Most of these games appear to be front loaded at the beginning of the season.
