Braxton Miller announces where he’ll play this season, surprises almost no one

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller said Thursday he’ll remain with the Buckeyes in 2015. Speaking with the Columbus Dispatch, Miller confirmed widespread speculation that he will not transfer to another school despite graduating from Ohio State this summer. The two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year missed all of last season with a shoulder injury. “I’m from Ohio, this is my home state,” Miller said. “This is where I started and this is where I’m going to finish it.” Miller, a rising fifth-year senior, suffered a shoulder injury in late August last season. J.T. Barrett took over at quarterback and led the Buckeyes to an 11-1 regular season before suffering his own season-ending injury, a broken ankle against Michigan. Cardale Jones then entered the lineup and led Ohio State to three consecutive postseason victories: over Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship, over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and over Oregon in the College Football Playoff championship game. All three players will return for the Buckeyes this fall, in what promises to be the most closely watched quarterback competition in college football history. Though Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer and several others close to the Ohio State program had long insisted Miller was staying put, Miller himself had not spoken publicly on the subject until Thursday.
