Ohio State Football: Braxton Miller announces he will return

Ohio State football star Braxton Miller has decided to remain in Columbus for one final year and tells the Columbus Dispatch that he intends to remain a quarterback. The announcement ends months of speculation that Miller might transfer to another program to finish his collegiate career and sets the stage for an unprecedented preseason quarterback competition. Miller, a fifth-year senior, obtained his degree in December and as a graduate was eligible to play immediately for any other school if he chose to transfer. This instant availability paired with the fact that Miller will have to earn back his starting spot on an Ohio State team loaded with qualified QBs made fans worry that a transfer might be imminent. Commenting on the rumors Miller stated, “Schools reached out. The long period of rest and rehabilitation seems to have worked, and Braxton says he feels confident he won’t re-injure the shoulder as he did last preseason, “I believe I didn’t take the time to fully get recovered. It usually takes a year, and that what I did this time.” Braxton is the most gifted athlete in Ohio State’s QB lineup and many speculated that the 6’-2” speedster might change positions if he chose to stay in Columbus, but Miller doesn’t seem to have any plans to do so…
