Ohio State Football: The 5 Most Important Recruits at Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights is Ohio State’s premier offseason recruiting event, and this year, it will draw some of Urban Meyer’s top targets to Columbus, Ohio, for pivotal visits.

The event was established when Meyer took over at Ohio State in 2012, and it has brought in big-time recruits such as Joey Bosa, Darron Lee, Raekwon McMillan and Torrance Gibson, all of whom wound up at Ohio State.

Which marquee prospects will be on hand this Friday?

Luke Farrell, 4-Star Tight End (2016)

Ohio State already has one tight end commitment with 4-star Jake Hausmann, but the staff is looking to add another for its 2016 class.

The guy at the top of its board is Luke Farrell, a 4-star prospect out of Perry, Ohio. Rated the fifth-best tight end and the No. 145 recruit overall, Farrell has offers from some of the nation’s top programs, including Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oregon.

A commitment from Farrell would give the Buckeyes two of the top five tight end recruits in the country, and according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions, that’s an inevitability. The home-state team is the unanimous favorite to land his pledge.

A good visit to Columbus should solidify that this Friday.
