Each year since 2005, the Ohio State football staff has held a Friday Night Lights camp, in which some of the nation’s top prep prospects run through workouts open to the public in Columbus, Ohio. This year’s event falls this Friday, so for coach Urban Meyer, much of the week’s work will include luring top targets to attend the camp and putting on a productive a showcase. And much of the news circling around the program will focus on the same thing. SBNation site Land-Grant Holy Land reported Saturday that class of 2018 offensive lineman Blaine Scott has signed up for the camp. The site also mentions class of 2017 athlete Bruce Judson, who verbally committed to the Buckeyes already this year, will attend the event but also visit several SEC schools on his way up to the Midwest from Florida. On Saturday, 247Sports reported that Tyler Gerald, one of the top offensive guards in the 2016 class and Scott’s high school teammate, will also be in attendance at Friday Night Lights. 247Sports is also keeping a running tally of announced attendees at the camp, though it’s behind a paywall.
