Braxton Miller reportedly switching positions, Ohio State’s QB battle down to 2

Two contenders remain in Ohio State’s star-studded quarterback battle. Braxton Miller, who is the Buckeyes’ most experienced signal caller, will be catching passes this season, according to a report from Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated. Miller will start his fifth and final season at Ohio State playing H-back. The move is one he first considered in April and mentioned to head coach Urban Meyer in May. That same month, Miller and quarterback J.T. Barrett reportedly began sneaking to the practice fields at night to get reps in together. Miller enters the 2015 season after sitting out all of last year following a pair of surgeries on his throwing shoulder.  The position change is an idea Miller came up with as a back-up plan, in case his shoulder was not back to full health by the start of this season. He now estimates that he will spend 80 percent of this fall working with the Buckeyes’ receivers, while spending the remaining 20 percent working with Barrett and fellow quarterback Cardale Jones. “For the most part, it’s going to be H-Back and punt return,” Miler told Thamel in a phone interview on Thursday night. “It’s a long process to get back totally to throwing and throwing every day.
