Florida State Football receives championship rings

FSU received its championship rings for winning the ACC title and reaching the playoffs.(Photo: Courtesy of Florida State Athletics) Monday saw the Florida State football team receive its rings for winning the 2014 Dr. Pepper Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game, and competing in the inaugural College Football Playoffs. The Seminoles outlasted the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stingy offense to earn the crown and competed against Oregon in the playoffs that followed the ACC Championship. Last season’s victory against Georgia Tech marked the third consecutive ACC title for the ‘Noles. It would also be the team’s 29th consecutive victory. Interestingly enough, this was a 29-game winning streak that commenced following a 21-15 victory against Georgia Tech in the 2012 ACC Championship. That said, it is safe to say that the Seminoles are no stranger to the ACC Championship game. In fact, the ‘Noles participated in 2005’s inaugural ACC Championship game and earned a ring that season following a 27-22 victory over Frank Beamer’s Virginia Tech Hokies. Reaching the inaugural College Football Playoffs marked another milestone for the Florida State football program. Obviously, the Seminoles would have desired to see a different result from the contest. Instead, the ‘Noles were plagued by second-half turnovers that sealed their fate against the Ducks, despite a competitive first half performance. …
