Ohio State Suspensions Show That Meyer Learns From Experience

Ohio State Football is on top of the college football game. The Buckeyes are reigning National Champions, with the best odds to repeat as Big Ten Conference Champions (by 4-1 odds, largest margin of any conference), and odds-on favorite to win another national championship. That brings to the starting lineup an age-old axiom: “The two hardest things to handle are failure and success.” The hard part about success is the unavoidable human gene called “overconfidence”, colloquially known as “getting the big head”, or “the normal rules don’t apply to us.” Apparently OSU has cloned that gene at least four times. That’s how many players were suspended for the first game against Virginia Tech on September 7th. Most notably, the Buckeyes will play without All-American Joey Bosa. Bosa can dominate a team from the defensive end position, and is regarded as one of the top five players in America.
