College football enters its second playoff season in 2015 and if the first is any indication, it should be another spellbinding year. So much for the four-team playoff hurting college football as some predicted. Except for Ohio State, who is everyone’s top-ranked preseason team, the 2015 field looks wide open. That will make September and October key months as teams look to establish themselves. Here’s a summer look at how we see 2015 breaking down with our top 10 teams, starting with Ohio State: OHIO STATE 2014: 14-1 and the first College Football Playoff national champion. The Buckeyes defeated Alabama in the CFP semifinals, 42-35, and Oregon, 42-20, in the championship game. Ohio State was 8-0 in the Big Ten and captured the league title with a 59-0 victory against Wisconsin in the conference championship contest. Coach: Urban Meyer (three years at Ohio State, 38-3; 14 years overall, 142-26). Returning starters: 17 total, eight on offense, seven on defense, two on special teams. Strengths: Where to start. The Buckeyes return the bulk of an offense that ran roughshod over Alabama and Oregon in the playoffs.
